Amazon problem

I'm usually not the person to rant on the internet since I prefer to focus on the positive, but this time I'm too pissed off to be silent.  Someone on Facebook offered a free copy of their new book in exchange for a review. Since the book was about Japanese mythology, I was naturally Interested. I loved the book, but... When I clicked the link to review, I got the message that I don't qualify to write reviews. When I dug deeper, I discovered the reason - I haven't spent at least 50 EUR in Amazon over the year. What!!! My opinion doesn't matter just because I'm not rich enough to splurge on things I find on Amazon? What stupidity is this? I don't have words for it. The book itself was great! I will add it to Good Book alert when I have time.

Powered up!

Yay! 🙂 I finished editing a chapter. If I'm not mistaken, 6 chapters left to edit. In the next chapter, Isegei comes into play. She is such a great character! Also, I wrote many pages of book three. Tiina and Reiko sneak out to go secretly to Japan in an attempt to hide somebody from danger. I have to change what I wrote a little. (How could I forget that it is winter in the book?🤭) Still, it feels good to write again.I am proud of my progress.😌 I'm like having a turbo on.

A goal reached!

I set myself a goal for editing. I planned to edit 10 paragraphs in 5 days. I set the bar low, because I'm not in full strenght yet after my long illness. Yesteday I had only 6 paragraphs ready. I thought that I can't make it. But today I had a sudden burst of energy and, guess, what? When I finished, I counted 10 paragraphs done. 10 in one sitting. I guess, beeing able to work and hour or maybe even two, means, my health is returning. And it feels so good to reach a goal and even more! I'm starting to like tracking my progress. It's great to be back in business!

Editing

I'm so excited to start editing the next chapter. I have been waiting for it. It is an important chapter because two new characters come into play. Mariel will be very important in book two. I like her. And at the end of the chapter, Tokala arrives. He is a mentor figure for both Tiina and Reiko. Besides that, this chapter has a cute moment when Tiina reads a book to Reiko.

Inari and rice.

I have imagined Inari, the goddess of rice with a hairdo adorned with rice. Now I see that it is actually kind of pretty. But now I'm thinking about changing the blooming rice into a shaft of ripe, golden rice like in this picture.

The Grave of a character.

Me and Jaan had a nice trip to Latvia. Three beautiful days. We visited the castle of Turaida. It was awesome! There was also the grave of legendary Rose of Turaida, a maiden who tricked a man who wanted to rape her into killing her instead.

Who's a good writer?

I woke up early today, and since I don't have any urgent responsibilities today, I spent the whole morning editing. It was about time. I hadn't even opened the file not even once this month. My attention was on learning Japanese.

Flexing my writing muscles.

I like to watch some videos on Writing on You tube. One advice that I found was that it is good to write some random scenes just for the sake of practicing without the need to make it sellable hindering. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to practice writing those scenes, but I decided to give it a try. So, I took the first thing that grabbed my interest in a folklore-related Facebook group and just tried to write a scene about it. So, here it is. I translated it for your entertainment.
