This week, there was an event in the local library. The theme was Japanese literature, so, of course, I was interested.
The event turned out to be a part of some program for the elderly. Awkward! Luckily they still accepted me.
The first activity was writing a haiku. A haiku! As you can guess, I dove right into it like a duck into a pond. I made a nice haiku, but some of the haikus of those sweet ladies in there were even better. They had some coziness of beginners' sincerity.
Next, the librarian made a quick introduction of some books. I wrote down the names of some books of haikus that I intend to read someday. Who knows, perhaps I will learn something from them.
Finally, everybody got a chance to talk about their latest read.
I'm so happy that I could be there! Visiting a library can be fun!
